About the role

  • Student/Coop Business and Data Analyst role at RBC Insurance aiding process improvements. Involve collaboration with multiple teams and hands-on exposure to diverse projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a dynamic environment where you are encouraged to aid in process improvement and work with autonomy.
  • Develop and Review processes and procedures
  • Support and assist with new and renewal licensing applications
  • Create and maintain all client and licensing records in applicable systems
  • Collaborate and support the Channel Design and Initiative Delivery team on projects impacting the group distribution channel
  • Review and clean up data within the Salesforce platform to improve platform efficiency
  • Perform data classification review and updates for Insurance's applications/systems
  • Gain hands-on exposure to the processes involved in transitioning products from development to production, including release planning, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and post-production validation.
  • Design and implement data-driven solutions to support the CIO office's strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment with the Enterprise data classification as outlined in the Enterprise Data Security Standards.
  • Actively participate in the development and/or monitoring of controls to support compliance requirements and risks identified.
  • Document processes or upgrade existing procedure manuals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including IT, operations, and product development, to ensure timely resolution of issues and continuous improvement of applications.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Finance, Data Science, or Computer Science
  • Knowledge in Building, Documenting, and Assessing Processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint & Excel)
  • Strong Teamwork and Collaboration Skills
  • Analytical Thinking and strong data literacy
  • Ability to think critically and 'outside the box'
  • Experience with End User Reporting Tools (ex. Tableau) and with CRM Tools (ex. Salesforce)
  • Actuarial Knowledge and Insurance industry knowledge
  • Familiar with SQL and Power BI
