About the role

  • RBC banking technology student supporting QA automation, testing tools, and data warehouse projects. Building technical skills across Technology & Operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing automated test plans and solutions for automation, process controls, and governance
  • Create plans for, update, and execute QA testing
  • Support programming testing tools for internal use
  • Maintain and provide accurate testing status reports during testing phases
  • Maintain test-result documentation according to defined tools
  • Support upgrades to the testing environment
  • Automate reporting processes using Blue Prism, VBA, and SQL
  • Apply data warehouse concepts and methodologies to projects
  • Confirm projects adhere to development standards and guidelines
  • Consideration for multiple Quality Engineer and Automation Analyst roles across RBC Technology & Operations

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on computer science, technology, or engineering
  • Leadership acumen and passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn and absorb new business and systems concepts quickly and apply new knowledge
  • Strong MS Office skills, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong systematic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of QA methods, testing approaches, frameworks, and methodologies
  • Experience in SQL and/or VBA
  • Knowledge of current analytics technologies and architecture, as well as data warehouse concepts and methodologies
  • Nice-to-have: Automation expertise (Blue Prism, etc.) and experience using BI tools including Tableau and Elastic
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience in data integration of disparate data sources
  • Nice-to-have: Relational database concepts and design experience
  • Resume and academic transcripts required in one PDF document
  • Must be currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution
