About the role
- Senior Principal Architect shaping Rocket Software’s DataEdge data integration, cloud, and AI platform strategy. Driving cross-product architecture, shared services, and agentic systems.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive technical strategy across the DataEdge portfolio
- Partner with Product Management to define platform strategy and translate business priorities into a shared, cross-product technical roadmap
- Build alignment across Product and Engineering teams while balancing product needs with portfolio-wide platform objectives
- Collaborate with architects across DataEdge, other Rocket portfolios, and business units to identify shared platform opportunities and drive architectural alignment
- Drive reusable services, APIs, frameworks, and common platform capabilities while consolidating overlapping technologies
- Define cloud-native strategies for deployment, configuration, scalability, observability, security, and operational excellence
- Lead adoption and integration of AI platform capabilities, intelligent automation, MCP, and agentic systems
- Identify and prioritize AI capabilities that create measurable customer value and competitive differentiation
- Represent the DataEdge technology vision internally and externally
- Monitor industry trends, analyst perspectives, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings to shape portfolio strategy and investment priorities
- Shape DataEdge’s role within the broader data, analytics, and AI ecosystem
- Collaborate across Rocket portfolios and external technology partners to deliver integrated platform capabilities and differentiated customer outcomes
- Promote industry standards, open APIs, and interoperability frameworks
- Coach teams on AI-enabled development, including AI-assisted coding, testing, documentation, modernization, and delivery
- Lead architecture reviews, communicate decisions and tradeoffs, and mentor senior technical talent across the portfolio
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience
- Proven experience defining architecture and technology strategy across multiple enterprise products or platforms
- Strong expertise in LLMs, agentic systems, MCP, retrieval architectures, enterprise AI integration, and responsible AI patterns
- Demonstrated delivery of AI-enabled product capabilities and adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices
- Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture, containers, Kubernetes, distributed systems, and modern software delivery
- Experience building shared platforms, services, APIs, or reusable frameworks and leading technology consolidation
- Successful partnership with Product Management on strategy, roadmaps, prioritization, and investment decisions
- Proven ability to lead cross-product initiatives, resolve competing priorities, and influence without direct authority
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, including with executive leaders
- Experience mentoring senior engineers or architects
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IS, or related technical discipline
- Ability to comply with information security responsibilities
- Willingness to travel 5%-10%
