Staff Product Designer shaping connected-operations IoT software at Samsara. Leading cross-product design initiatives, customer discovery, AI-enabled workflows, and production design systems.

Responsibilities

Lead large, ambiguous initiatives spanning multiple product areas from problem framing through launch and iteration
Act as a taste maker and demonstrate good judgment in the design domain
Meet and engage with strategic customers regularly
Bring customer voice and product data into product decisions
Leverage AI tools throughout the design process and define new ways of working
Democratize design at Samsara
Stay informed about emerging trends, tools, and technology
Give back to the community
Ship code to production across the design system, web products, and mobile apps
Set the standard for excellence through building and shipping

10+ years of product design experience designing UX/UI for web and mobile applications
Track record of leading work spanning multiple product areas
Strong portfolio and/or case studies showing design craft and quantified impact across multiple product areas or platform-wide systems
Portfolio is required; applications without a portfolio cannot be considered
Deep interaction and visual design skills
Judgment to define new patterns for other designers and teams
Regular use of AI tools in design practice, such as Cursor and Figma Make
Shipped work attributable to AI tools
Experience mentoring designers formally and informally
Experience partnering with senior leadership
