About the role

  • French Translation Specialist translating Securian Canada’s insurance and corporate communications. Managing bilingual content quality, terminology, vendors, and RFP responses across Canadian teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support French (Canadian) language and translation efforts at Securian Canada
  • Translate company materials from English to French, including presentations, press releases, social media content, employee communications, newsletters, website content, and company policies
  • Ensure French translation compliance and consistency amongst departments
  • Coordinate with third-party translation and interpretation vendors
  • Evaluate vendor translation quality and ensure effective resourcing for organizational needs
  • Review and revise translations completed by external vendors or internal resources
  • Maintain standardized lexicon, internal terminology bank, and inclusive style guide covering product and insurance terminology
  • Write French RFP responses and other French-first/French-only materials
  • Track monthly usage metrics to analyze volumes and trends
  • Collaborate with teams across the business on corporate communications, business documentation, marketing content, employee resources, and RFP responses

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in translation (Eng-Fr) from a recognized academic institution
  • Certification from a recognized translators' association (OTTIAQ, ATIO, CTINB)
  • Minimum five years translation and revision experience, preferably in the insurance industry or a related field
  • Superior organizational skills and scrupulous attention to detail
  • Intellectual curiosity and excellent judgment
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office software
  • Strong ability to work both independently and within a team environment
