Pharmacy Assistant performing technical and clerical functions in three hospitals and eight satellite sites. Responsible for quality control and medication handling.
Responsibilities
Transporting medications and picking up prescriptions
Pre-packaging
Preparing sterile and non-sterile compounds
Stock replenishment
Filling prescriptions
Quality assurance activities including but not limited to: expiry date checking, medication storage area inspections, audits, gathering patient information
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Pharmacy Technician program graduates awaiting registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
Minimum of 1 year related experience
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues and volunteers and other members of the community and public
Demonstrates values consistent with SHN’s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation.

Previous hospital pharmacy experience with unit dose drug distribution systems and IV admixture services (Asset)
Ability to speak another language (Asset)
