Pharmacy Assistant supporting patient-facing operations at University of Toronto’s Discovery Pharmacy. Handling patient intake, billing, referrals, records, and pharmacy administration.
Responsibilities
Support day-to-day pharmacy operations at Discovery Pharmacy, coordinating activities effectively and efficiently
Receive patients incoming to Discovery Pharmacy and provide wayfinding and orientation
Respond to enquiries within the defined scope and redirect as appropriate
Resolve minor complaints and refer larger issues when appropriate
Collect and pass on referrals according to pharmacists' instructions
Perform routine data entry
Verify the accuracy and completeness of documents and billing information
Submit completed claim forms to the appropriate insurance agency
Update and maintain patient charts
Follow rules and procedural instructions when opening or closing the work area
Requirements
College Certificate in a professional Pharmacy Assistant Program or equivalent or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
Minimum two years of experience as a professional pharmacy assistant in a community pharmacy setting
Experience with OHIP/ODB and insurance billing practices
Proficient in pharmacy management software, including Kroll system and Pharmaconnect
Knowledge of PHIPA and ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 9:45 AM to 6:00 PM
