About the role

  • Technical Writer responsible for drafting and managing documentation for SpryPoint's cloud-native utility software. Collaborating with teams to ensure users can effectively utilize products and stay informed.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and manage user guides, release notes, and other technical documentation to support SpryPoint’s product offerings.
  • Ensure release notes are accurate, clear, and completed on time for every sprint, consistently meeting the bi-weekly deadlines.
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and customer support teams to gather information and understand the intricacies of our products.
  • Convert complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand content for end-users with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Ensure that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and consistent with SpryPoint’s style and branding guidelines.
  • Review and edit documentation created by other team members to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to the company’s standards.
  • Establish and maintain templates, guidelines, and best practices for technical documentation.
  • Collect and incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously improve documentation quality and relevance.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a software or technology-related environment.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and ability to comprehend technical concepts quickly.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools such as GoogleDocs, Snagit, Microsoft Word, or similar software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field is desirable; however, equivalent real-world experience with technical writing for a software company is also welcome.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
