Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist working within Stantec's integrated design practice. Collaborate on diverse projects in a dynamic work environment with public and private sector clients.
Responsibilities
Facility condition assessments.
Collection of necessary design input site information.
Constructability reviews of designs.
Technical guidance of design teams and provision of feedback from construction sites.
Assistance with estimating of probable cost of construction.
Construction contract administration.
Provision of engineering oversight of projects in construction, including review of contractor submissions, responses to contractor inquiries, field reviews of electrical installations, etc.
Commissioning oversight.
Requirements
In-depth knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code of Canada, and other codes and standards governing electrical installations.
In-depth knowledge of construction practices and techniques. Hands-on experience in construction field preferred, especially in electrical contracting.
Basic knowledge of engineering design and collaboration software including Revu Bluebeam.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong collaborative skills while working with a single or multi-discipline team.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to follow Stantec's quality control guidelines.
Understanding the importance of complying with Stantec's Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) program, with a focus on safety in the field.
Desire to help build up stronger design team by providing technical guidance and constructive feedback from project implementation sites.
Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 15-20 years of experience is required.
