About the role
- Geotechnical Co-op Student providing engineering support within mining geotechnical group at Stantec. Engaging in project work and developing practical skills with experienced practitioners.
Responsibilities
- Provide general support to engineers within the mining geotechnical group
- Apply knowledge of civil engineering concepts to assist with project work
- Perform geotechnical engineering calculations, field work, contract administration
- Use Microsoft Word, Excel, GeoStudio, AutoCAD Civil 3D for project preparation
- Conduct research on projects to provide background information
Requirements
- Highly motivated and willing to work in a team-oriented environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be well organized to prioritize multiple tasks
- Willingness to participate in prioritizing the Health and Safety culture
- Completed at least 1st year (2 full terms) in an accredited Canadian engineering program
- Prior experience in a team environment is important but not required
