About the role

  • Senior Electrical Engineer leading electrical engineering projects for building designs at Stantec. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of electrical systems for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project requirements and constraints.
  • Prepare detailed electrical engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into overall building designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our engineering services.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex electrical engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP).
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on building projects.
