About the role
- Senior Electrical Engineer leading electrical engineering projects for building designs at Stantec. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project requirements and constraints.
- Prepare detailed electrical engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into overall building designs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our engineering services.
Requirements
- Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex electrical engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in electrical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP).
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on building projects.
