About the role

  • Power BI Developer collaborating on data insights and reporting for program management at Stantec. Supporting transformational project solutions in diverse sectors like engineering and construction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive and visually appealing reports and dashboards.
  • Collect and analyze large datasets to derive actionable insights.
  • Use statistical methods to interpret data and generate useful business reports.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through validation and cleaning processes.
  • Collaborate with the Controls team and other teams to resolve data-related issues.
  • Assist with Business Process development regarding data gathering and analysis

Requirements

  • Ability to work with large complex data models
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI is strongly preferred, but similar alternatives may be considered).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time, organize, set priorities, and make timely decisions.
  • Experience with large public sector programs in water or transportation
  • Prior work in project controls
  • Experience with API calls and management (e.g., REST)
  • Experience with Middleware tools (e.g., Boomi, Power Automate)
  • Previous leadership and management of team
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering)
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong Power BI (or similar) experience is required.
  • Industry-specific knowledge and experience (e.g., Architecture, Engineering, Construction).
