Transmission Planning Power Systems Studies Engineer-in-Training conducting power systems modelling and analysis for renewable energy solutions. Working in North American offices with remote options in North America.
Responsibilities
Conducts a wide range of power systems modelling and analysis, including power flow, short circuit, post-transient, and transient stability studies.
Prepares scripts and programming to assist with the automation of simulations, compilation of results, and analysis.
Prepares study reports, identifying assumptions, methodology, analysis, and results.
Participates in meetings with clients to review project progress and present results and recommendations.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary engineering teams and clients throughout project execution.
Requirements
Understanding of electrical power system and power electronics theory.
Proficiency in Python programming
Experience with PSS/E required, experience with PSLF preferred.
Experience with other power system simulation tools would be considered an asset.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively explain and discuss solutions with clients.
Self-motivated and able to collaborate with other engineers and engineers-in-training.
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, including courses related to power system studies and analysis.
