About the role
- Senior Backend Engineer developing backend services for the Travel Rule product at Sumsub. Involved in integrations and distributed systems in a remote-first, global environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services for the Travel Rule product.
- Build and maintain integrations with third-party providers.
- Work with asynchronous, event-driven architectures.
- Ensure high reliability, fault tolerance, and observability of distributed services.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to evolve the platform.
Requirements
- Strong backend engineering experience (Java or similar languages).
- Experience building and maintaining integrations with external systems and third-party APIs.
- Familiarity with asynchronous processing and distributed systems.
- Good understanding of databases (MongoDB, ClickHouse, or similar).
- Motivated to solve complex, product-driven problems.
- Bonus: familiarity with crypto, blockchain fundamentals, or how crypto networks and wallets operate.
