Responsibilities
- Pitch compelling story ideas explaining the impact of AI and technology
- Develop sources to break news and produce exclusive stories
- Write vivid profiles and features
- Write clearly and meet deadlines
- Collaborate with department and newsroom colleagues on story ideas and presentation formats
- Develop storytelling beyond standard formats
- Participate in Globe subscriber events
- Report to the AI and technology editor
- Collaborate with reporters and editors across the newsroom
- Cover AI's impact on people, businesses, governments and power brokers
Requirements
- At least five years experience as a reporter in a daily news organization
- Solid news judgment with a track record of enterprise work
- Ability to connect dots and tell larger stories with a reader-centric approach
- Portfolio showing news, enterprise and feature writing through the lens of business and technology
- Comfortable working in live blogs, newsletters, video and audio
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to helping team members succeed
- Cover letter with three links to previous work
- Resume written by the candidate, not AI
- Authentic engagement in interviews; AI must not be used during interviews or replace the candidate's responses
