- AI reporter covering technology’s impact on people, businesses, and governments for The Globe and Mail. Breaking news, developing enterprise stories, and crafting compelling features.
Responsibilities
- Break news, develop enterprise stories, and craft compelling features about AI’s impact
- Frequently pitch compelling story ideas explaining the impact of AI and technology
- Develop sources to break news and produce exclusive stories
- Write vivid profiles and features clearly and on deadline
- Collaborate with reporters and editors across the newsroom to brainstorm story ideas and storytelling approaches
- Think beyond standard storytelling formats
- Participate in Globe subscriber events
- Report to the AI and technology editor as part of the Report on Business section
Requirements
- At least five years experience as a reporter in a daily news organization
- Solid news judgment with a track record of enterprise work
- Ability to connect dots and tell larger stories with a reader-centric approach
- Portfolio showing news, enterprise and feature writing through the lens of business and technology
- Comfortable working in formats including live blogs, newsletters, video and audio
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to helping other team members succeed
- Resume written by the candidate, not AI
- Cover letter with three links to previous work
