- AI reporter for The Globe and Mail, Canada’s leading news organization, breaking news and explaining technology’s impact. Developing enterprise stories, profiles, and features for Report on Business.
Responsibilities
- Pitch compelling story ideas explaining the impact of AI and technology
- Develop sources to break news and produce exclusive stories
- Write vivid profiles and features
- Write clearly and on deadline
- Collaborate with reporters and editors across the department and newsroom
- Brainstorm story ideas and determine effective storytelling formats
- Explore storytelling formats beyond standard approaches
- Participate in Globe subscriber events
- Report to the AI and technology editor as part of the Report on Business section
Requirements
- Ambition and curiosity about AI and emerging technologies
- Ability to pitch compelling story ideas about AI and technology’s impact
- Ability to develop sources and break news
- Ability to produce exclusive stories, profiles, and features
- Ability to write clearly and meet deadlines
- Ability to collaborate with reporters and editors across the newsroom
- Ability to think beyond standard storytelling formats
- Minimum two days per week in the Toronto office
