- Senior Software Engineer building Thumbtack’s AI-assisted design-to-code workflows. Connecting Figma, React, prototypes, and production code for a home-services platform.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-assisted workflows using tools such as Claude Code and Figma MCP
- Build a bidirectional bridge between Figma, prototypes, and production frontend code
- Partner with Product Design on patterns, components, and workflows
- Evolve Thumbprint with machine-readable documentation, MCP-friendly component metadata, and prototyping-platform integration
- Partner with Developer Experience on AI agents and tooling, and Frontend Infrastructure on the web stack
- Run office hours, prioritize user feedback, and ship improvements to product development workflows
- Prototype and evaluate emerging AI development tools and recommend what Thumbtack should adopt and scale
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a frontend engineer building production product surfaces
- Systems-thinking ability to reason about tooling, workflows, and platforms as well as features
- Deep hands-on fluency with TypeScript, React, and surrounding build, test, and deploy tools
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex
- Considered opinions about AI-assisted development tools’ limits, applications, and scalability
- Track record of building tools and infrastructure adopted by engineers or non-engineers
- Judgment about onboarding, documentation, and feedback loops that support adoption
- Strong cross-functional collaboration with designers, PMs, and engineering teams
- 6+ years of industry experience in software engineering
