About the role

  • Senior Systems Administrator to manage and secure both on-premises and AWS environments, with a strong focus on automation and cybersecurity. Collaborate with development teams to enable web application hosting and improve DevOps practices while maintaining high availability and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the IT infrastructure, including on-premise configurations and AWS cloud services.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of identity solutions using Microsoft Entra Identity.
  • Automate software and system deployments to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support web application hosting and streamline DevOps practices.
  • Ensure data integrity and availability through regular backups, making sure projects are delivered on time.
  • Thoroughly document system architectures, including disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Handle complex technical issues within the internal support team, providing expert assistance.
  • Define, implement, and maintain a cybersecurity framework based on CIS controls or an equivalent standard.
  • Deploy and maintain centralized logging and monitoring solutions (CloudWatch, SIEM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, etc.) to detect anomalies and prevent incidents.
  • Coordinate security incident response and raise employee awareness of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve IT systems and security measures in line with company growth.

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of experience as a systems administrator specializing in AWS cloud services and cybersecurity.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS architecture, services, and security best practices.
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator (in progress or held).
  • Familiarity with CIS benchmarks and implementing security controls in AWS environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash for automation.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Understanding of networking concepts including DNS, TCP/IP, and VPN, and experience with AWS networking services.
  • Expertise in virtualization technologies and administration of containerized environments using Docker.
  • Application of system hardening best practices across all environments.
  • Troubleshooting skills across Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
  • Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear communication.
  • Proactive collaborator with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms.
