About the role

  • Senior Engineer providing project management and technical expertise for landfill operations. Overseeing budget, timelines, and compliance with regulations in municipal engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management, contract administration, and technical expertise for landfill operations
  • Conduct research into assigned areas to ensure compliance with standards and regulations
  • Manage assigned projects from inception to completion
  • Prepare, review, and advise on studies, plans, specifications and designs
  • Coordinate the approvals process for new facilities in accordance with legislation
  • Works with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are achieved
  • Finalize contract payment and implement quality control

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering
  • Must be a qualified engineer as defined by the Professional Engineers of Ontario
  • Extensive experience in municipal engineering
  • Considerable experience in team lead capacity
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act and Regulations
  • Knowledge of the planning and execution of capital projects in a municipal context
  • Must possess a valid Province of Ontario Class "G" Driver's License
  • Possession of PMP certification from PMI would be an asset
