Responsibilities
- Develop and update Python-based applications and tools to automate common analytics workflows and repetitive analyst tasks.
- Build and maintain internal APIs and command-line tools that allow stakeholders to request and access data more easily.
- Collaborate with analysts to identify automation opportunities and transform manual reporting into efficient, reusable programs.
- Partner with the Data Engineering and Data Operations teams to integrate tools with data warehouse layers and AWS services.
- Implement best practices for version control, testing, deployment, and documentation for all analytics tooling.
- Continuously monitor tool usage and performance, iterating to improve speed, reliability, and usability.
- Write advanced SQL queries to support tool functionality and troubleshoot data requests.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in a technical data role such as analytics engineering, data science tooling, or backend scripting for analytics.
- Strong programming skills in Python, with a track record of building and maintaining codebases for internal users.
- Professional experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, Fargate, ECR, S3, SNS/SQS) for automating and deploying tools.
- Advanced SQL skills and the ability to work effectively with large, complex datasets.
- Experience building, developing, and deploying Docker containers.
- Demonstrated ability to understand analytics use cases and build tailored, reusable solutions.
- Competence with version control tools (e.g., Git) and CI/CD workflows (e.g., Terraform).
