Platform Engineering Manager leading the design and operation of WCG’s cloud platform as a product. Driving modern platform engineering with a focus on automation and self-service capabilities.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and operation of WCG’s cloud platform as a product
Drive the shift to a modern platform engineering model focused on automation, self-service capabilities, and developer experience
Define, build, and operate the internal platform as a product, with clear users (developers, IT teams) and measurable outcomes
Develop and execute a platform roadmap, service catalog, and self-service capabilities including reusable components and standardized patterns
Continuously improve developer experience (DevEx) by reducing friction and increasing autonomy
Architect and manage cloud environments in Azure and AWS, including high availability, disaster recovery, and resilience strategies
Lead adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
Partner closely with Security teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines and platform services
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Seven (7) + years in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering
Three (3) + years in leadership roles
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure; working knowledge of AWS
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
Experience implementing DevSecOps practices and secure pipelines
Experience designing and managing integrations and APIs
Familiarity with AI tools and their application in engineering workflows
Experience with observability, monitoring, reliability engineering, and incident management practices
Strong understanding of identity and access management, including lifecycle and access control models
Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments
