About the role
- Senior Treasury Reporting Associate safeguarding reconciliations and financial risk at Wealthsimple, Canada's leading financial innovator. Improving reporting, analytics, and workflows across Treasury operations.
Responsibilities
- Own daily bank reconciliations across Treasury accounts and payment rails
- Investigate reconciliation breaks and work with cross-functional teams to resolve them
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, and other teams
- Use in-house AI tools to optimize workflows and drive project success
- Act as a key stakeholder in resolving higher-risk issues
- Maintain or develop reporting deliverables with varying frequencies
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure consistent quality standards
- Support complex Treasury Cash and Collateral Management projects
- Conduct in-depth analysis using SQL, AI, and other tools to inform Treasury operations and strategy
- Use AI tools responsibly within Wealthsimple's internal controls
- Maintain reporting and workflow-optimization projects to make reconciliation faster, clearer, and more scalable
- Surface root causes behind recurring reconciliation breaks
- Lead reporting and workflow improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in financial analysis or similar role
- Demonstrated success in Treasury and financial operations, banking and payments, or related operations roles
- Proven experience overseeing end-to-end report lifecycle management
- Ability to manage multiple reporting deliverables with varying frequencies and stakeholder groups
- Strong proficiency in SQL for extracting, analysing, and reporting on financial data
- Experience with a treasury management system such as Kyriba or similar
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or Superset
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical reporting solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Comfort navigating ambiguity without a set playbook
- Financial modeling, coding/automation, ability to contribute to a data model, and experience with business intelligence tools is preferred
