About the role
- Senior Software Developer responsible for enhancing reliability through code improvements at Wealthsimple. Collaborating with product teams and taking ownership of significant components and services.
Responsibilities
- Partner directly with product engineers to diagnose and resolve production issues, building solutions that prevent recurrence
- Take end-to-end ownership of system components, designing with reliability and maintainability as primary concerns
- Contribute to platform tools and frameworks that help all engineers ship reliably
- Collaborate with Platform, Product, and Data partners to align technical decisions with client needs
- Help establish technical standards and best practices for development at Wealthsimple
Requirements
- 6+ years of software development experience building products with demonstrated growth in technical scope and autonomy
- Experience in optimizing platform engineering and/or infrastructure
- Knowledge of 2 or more of the following languages: Ruby on Rails / TypeScript / Kotlin
- Experience using LLMs to drive broad changes across codebases (Claude)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex issues across multiple systems and keen interest in getting to the root cause
- Experience designing and maintaining production systems with high availability requirements
- Strong communication and collaboration skills. You can explain complex technical concepts clearly and work effectively with stakeholders across different backgrounds
