Intermediate Electrical Engineer focusing on electrical design and technical support for industrial projects. Collaborating with clients in energy and materials sectors at Wood's Fredericton office.
Responsibilities
Prepare design documentation including schematics, one-line diagrams, layout drawings, specifications, and technical reports
Design , develop, and coordinate low voltage systems in compliance with client requirements, industry standards
Perform power systems studies, arc flash studies, short circuit studies, grounding studies and electrical coordination studies
Familiarity with power system modeling in Etap and SKM
Familiarity with SEL relays, AcSELerator Quickset software, RTAC software
Work with vendors and subcontractors to evaluate system components, submittals, and shop drawings
Conduct field inspections, site walks, and design verifications to ensure system installations meet design intent
Interface with clients to present designs, gather feedback, and incorporate revisions; Establish good working relationships and communicate with area leads, department managers, clients and other engineering disciplines to coordinate, ensuring the compatibility of design
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
PE license or progress toward licensure is required
Familiarity with Navisworks and Bluebeam is a plus
3–8 years of relevant experience in low voltage system design
Minimum 4 years experience in electrical design for mining, oil & gas, electrical generation or similar industrial industries
Team player, but also able to work independently and take responsibility
Able to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks in a highly scheduled environment
Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
