About the role

  • Intermediate Electrical Engineer focusing on electrical design and technical support for industrial projects. Collaborating with clients in energy and materials sectors at Wood's Fredericton office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare design documentation including schematics, one-line diagrams, layout drawings, specifications, and technical reports
  • Design , develop, and coordinate low voltage systems in compliance with client requirements, industry standards
  • Perform power systems studies, arc flash studies, short circuit studies, grounding studies and electrical coordination studies
  • Familiarity with power system modeling in Etap and SKM
  • Familiarity with SEL relays, AcSELerator Quickset software, RTAC software
  • Work with vendors and subcontractors to evaluate system components, submittals, and shop drawings
  • Conduct field inspections, site walks, and design verifications to ensure system installations meet design intent
  • Interface with clients to present designs, gather feedback, and incorporate revisions; Establish good working relationships and communicate with area leads, department managers, clients and other engineering disciplines to coordinate, ensuring the compatibility of design

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • PE license or progress toward licensure is required
  • Familiarity with Navisworks and Bluebeam is a plus
  • 3–8 years of relevant experience in low voltage system design
  • Minimum 4 years experience in electrical design for mining, oil & gas, electrical generation or similar industrial industries
  • Team player, but also able to work independently and take responsibility
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks in a highly scheduled environment
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
