About the role
- Solutions Architect designing enterprise technology solutions for World Vision Canada’s digital transformation. Guiding architecture standards, cloud infrastructure, integrations, and Agile delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end solution architectures addressing business and technical challenges while meeting functional and non-functional requirements
- Develop architecture artifacts, estimate effort and communicate reusable solution designs
- Interface with all organizational levels to understand problems and communicate solutions
- Articulate solutions to Scrum teams and ensure adherence to documented architecture
- Ensure solutions follow Enterprise Architecture principles, standards, processes and policies
- Participate in defining and maintaining Enterprise Architecture principles, standards, processes and policies
- Work with the Enterprise Architecture community to define strategic direction and roadmap
- Safeguard the enterprise against technology creep and technical debt
- Collaborate with technical leaders and agile teams
- Report to the Director, Solution Delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of development experience
- 5+ years in software architecture, data architecture, solutions architecture or equivalent
- Experience with design patterns and principles of creating reusable architecture (e.g. TOGAF)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Wide breadth of technical skills, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar CRM/ERP business suite
- Experience with web technologies including HTTP/HTTPS, Web services, SAML, Javascript and JS frameworks
- Experience with integration technologies/architectures such as SOA, Microservices, MQ and EDI
- Experience with RDBMS, NoSQL and Big Data storage and related technologies such as Snowflake and Spark
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and its use in software development lifecycle
- Experience with cloud infrastructure architectures, including networking, identity and access management, security controls, disaster recovery, automation and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Experience with SaaS, PaaS and COTS implementation architecture
- DevSecOps principles and design patterns
- Strong ability to adapt and learn new technologies
- 2+ years of delivery experience in Agile environments
