Banking Associate- CSC role supporting financial operations, monitoring corporate actions, analyzing notifications, and ensuring compliance. Contract position in Toronto with pay rate of $17.60-$22.76/hr.
Responsibilities
Monitor and review corporate action notifications and circulars from vendors such as DTC, CDS, TSE, Bloomberg, etc. Manually identify systems with share positions and validate information through secondary sources. Determine the location of main depositories and follow up on pending corporate actions to meet deadlines. Analyze circulars and notifications critically within tight timeframes. Assess potential foreign currency exchange risks related to corporate actions. Identify complex tax treatments and escalate for tax analysis prior to payments. Verify restrictions and eligibility for Canadian resident shareholders. Determine if documentation is required and adhere to submission timelines. Summarize complex information into concise notifications for clients. Coordinate mailing activities with Symcor, including email bursts and web broker uploads. Create and maintain corporate action files and online logbooks. Respond to inquiries regarding notifications and communicate with transfer agents or companies. Update relevant databases and reconcile systems for accurate status tracking. Escalate issues to senior team members as necessary. Complete routine tasks within designated targets and participate in internal training and cross-training programs.
Requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyze large volumes of information accurately. High attention to detail and organizational skills. Proven experience in banking or financial services preferred. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) – 5 years of experience. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines. Self-motivated with a professional work ethic and positive attitude. Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
