About the role
- Senior Data Governance Manager role overseeing data governance frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance and data quality for a financial client. Contractor position in Toronto.
Responsibilities
- In this position, you will oversee the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering data quality across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity to lead strategic data initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the organization's data-driven decision-making environment.
Requirements
- Desired Skill-Set: 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field. Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data quality concepts. Proven experience in developing and implementing data policies and standards. Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills. Advanced knowledge of data management tools and platforms. Strong communication and documentation abilities. Ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and drive organizational change. Nice to Have: Experience with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, or financial industry standards. Knowledge of data privacy and security best practices. Previous work in financial services or related regulated industries. Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., DAMA, CDMP).
