About the role
- Intermediate QA Engineer needed for hybrid contract role in Toronto, ON. Must have 3-5 years experience, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of Playwright, API automation, and CI pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and execute structured test cases based on product specifications and technical designs. Translate requirements into test coverage including edge cases. Analyze defects, collaborate with SDETs, ensure test work is visible and traceable, participate in Agile discussions, maintain test documentation in TestRail, track defects in Azure DevOps, and validate complex workflows in a cybersecurity SaaS platform.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in software quality assurance. Excellent understanding of test automation concepts (Playwright, API automation, CI pipelines). Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills. Ability to craft test cases from specifications. Comfortable reasoning about data flows, state transitions, business rules, and failure modes. Confidence in debugging and issue analysis. Clear communicator with good written and spoken English. Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams. Experience with TestRail, Azure DevOps, and functional, regression, exploratory, and integration testing.
