About the role

  • Senior Technical Engineer/Officer (Fire Protection Consultant) for energy sector. Hybrid role in Pickering, ON with focus on emergency response planning and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for emergency response and fire protection programs, including evaluations, investigations, and coordination of technical work related to facility operations and maintenance. Conduct fire hazard assessments, risk evaluations, and response planning. Ensure fire protection systems, equipment, and procedures meet regulatory and licensing requirements. Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, reports, and compliance records supporting emergency readiness. Collaborate with internal teams and external emergency response organizations to strengthen fire protection initiatives and response protocols. Support continuous improvement of safety and emergency response programs.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical education. Knowledge of fire protection systems, facility operations, and risk assessment methodologies. Experience working with CSA fire protection standards (CSA N293, CSA N393) and Canadian fire/building codes. Experience with fire hazard assessments, fire safe shutdown analysis, or emergency response planning in regulated industrial environments. Strong experience preparing technical documentation, reports, and regulatory compliance records. Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder coordination skills. Experience in fire response or emergency services is considered an asset.
