About the role
- Senior UX Designer for Ontario Government. 12-month contract designing user experiences, with strong focus on research, accessibility, and agile delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design complete experiences by aligning user needs, business goals, and delivery constraints. Translate complex business problems into clear, usable, and accessible experiences. Apply information architecture and systems thinking to structure complex products and services. Raise product credibility through strong visual and UI design, including design system leadership. Use evidence to drive decisions and design inclusive experiences from the start, with rigorous user research and accessibility practices. Work within Agile delivery teams, making design visible and actionable. Lead through influence by building trust and shared understanding across disciplines.
Requirements
- Product-level UX, UI, and content design experience. Ability to translate complex business problems into usable experiences. Experience with task analysis, journey mapping, problem definition workshops, assumption mapping, hypothesis testing. Design interaction, visual, and content elements including navigation, screen layout, and microcopy. Information architecture and systems thinking for complex products. Visual design quality and design system leadership. Research-led and accessibility-first design practice. Agile delivery experience with design and collaboration tools (Figma, Axure, Miro). Cross-disciplinary consulting and community leadership. Must create clear, usable, accessible experiences with well-reasoned design decisions. Must lead rigorous user research and accessibility practices. Must operate as senior partner within agile team. Must produce high-quality, developer-ready design outputs. Strong graphic design and research experience.
