Software Engineer (.NET) consultant needed for a 12-month contract in Cambridge, ON, to develop microservices for manufacturing digital transformation in a hybrid on-prem/AWS environment.
Responsibilities
As a software engineer consultant, you will be a key contributor to help create and scale new microservices used by our client’s North American Factories. The product is a brand-new system designed to run hybrid between mission critical on-prem factories and AWS private cloud. You will visit the production floor to understand the environment and processes, and participate as part of the core SCRUM team.
Requirements
Expert knowledge in at least 2 of: .NET 6+ APIs, SPA web development (Angular), Containers (Docker), Developing Multi-threaded & Concurrent applications. Working experience in most of: .NET MAUI or Xamarin, Cross Platform Mobile Development, Socket programming, Asynchronous applications, Implementing design patterns and software architectures, Linux runtime environment, System Design, Computer Networks, Caches (Redis, Memcached), PostgreSQL, Event Driven Architecture, Interfacing with Industrial tools using BLE, Serial, USB, MQTT, OAuth2, OIDC, Message Queues (MQTT, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.). Must work well autonomously and in a team, balance concurrent assignments, write technical documentation, follow requirements to deliver features, strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, willingness to learn new technologies, write unit tests and perform QA, capability to work in Woodstock if required, and travel to USA less than 2 weeks per year. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related fields.
