Customs Clearance Coordinator at A & A Customs Brokers ensuring efficient shipment handling and compliance. Experience in customs brokerage and coordination for Highway shipments required.
Responsibilities
Review documentation and prepare customs release entries for processing.
Process and manage Highway releases.
Analyze documents to determine applicable tariff classifications, duties, and tax rates.
Collect supplementary information or documentation as required from customers, carriers, CBSA, and others.
Email clients with clear, concise communication to ensure excellent customer service.
Handle and resolve challenging situations professionally and effectively.
Liaise with other teams for entry follow-up as required.
Maintain strong knowledge of Canadian ports and warehouses.
Enter data into computer systems accurately and efficiently.
Complete files within required timeframes and in accordance with A & A and Canadian regulations.
Review files for accuracy and errors, ensuring compliance.
Handle phone inquiries.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
2+ years in customs clearance coordination, ideally with Highway shipments.
Prior experience at a Canadian customs brokerage is a strong asset.
A Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or equivalent Canadian designation is preferred, or the willingness to earn it - we’ll support you.
A solid understanding of Canadian rules and regulations for the importation of goods.
Comfortable picking up new systems quickly and finding efficiencies in digital tools.
Experience with ITMr4, Cargowise, and/or CANdata is an asset.
Proficient in Gmail/Front, Google Drive, and Google Sheets.
Organized, responsive, dependable, and punctual.
A self-starter who works well independently, multitasks comfortably, and brings strong problem-solving and communication skills.
