About the role

  • Closure Nomination Analyst supporting Alberta’s energy-site closure program at the Alberta Energy Regulator. Coordinating nominations, stakeholders, technical reviews and regulatory outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Review and coordinate closure nomination submissions, assessing eligibility and program requirements
  • Manage communications with requesters, licensees and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with technical experts across the organization
  • Respond to inquiries from industry and the public
  • Track program performance and timelines
  • Provide guidance and education on Closure Nomination Program requirements and processes
  • Support the Closure Nomination Program within the Regulatory Applications branch
  • Contribute to responsible energy development, environmental stewardship and closure outcomes for inactive and abandoned energy sites

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related work experience working with stakeholders, complaints and associated administrative processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, legal studies or arts
  • Knowledge of energy development, specifically closure and liability in Alberta
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience with external stakeholders, public speaking and delivering presentations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Power BI
  • Experience with data management and analysis and Tableau
  • Experience using AER databases and systems, specifically OneStop
  • Ability to manage varying responsibilities and conflicting priorities and deliver results in a deadline-driven environment
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada at the time of application
  • PMP and/or conflict resolution certification is an asset
