About the role

  • Senior Product Designer improving Affirm's visual language and user experience across platforms. Collaborating with teams to enhance product design and ensuring usability.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of core component libraries. You will drive the design, specification, and maintenance of complex UI components, ensuring they meet the highest standards of craft and usability.
  • Lead by example in visual refinement. You will ensure that every component—from buttons to complex data tables—is polished, accessible, and aligned with our brand identity.
  • Work closely with engineering partners to translate design intent into code. You will help define component APIs and ensure the 'coded' reality matches the 'designed' vision.
  • Create clear, actionable documentation. You will make it easy for product teams to adopt the system by writing comprehensive usage guidelines and 'do’s and don’ts.'
  • Act as a dedicated partner to product squads. You will help unblock other designers, review their usage of the system, and gather feedback to improve our tools.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of product design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing Design Systems work.
  • You are an expert in modern Figma workflows (Auto-layout, Components, Variants, Properties). You know how to build libraries that are easy for others to use.
  • You have a strong grasp of how designs are implemented in code (HTML/CSS/React/Mobile) and can communicate effectively with developers about constraints and trade-offs.
  • Strong visual design skills with an eye for typography, layout, and hierarchy. You care about the details.

  • Flexible Spending Wallets - generous stipends for spending on Technology, Food, various Lifestyle needs, and family forming expenses
