About the role
- Senior Frontend Engineer building web and mobile trading interfaces for Alpaca’s brokerage infrastructure. Delivering performant Trading API experiences across frontend and backend systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain frontend applications forming the foundation of Alpaca's user experience
- Develop user experiences and products for Trading API customers, including frontend trading dashboards and backend systems
- Deliver end-to-end solutions across frontend and backend systems for Trading API features
- Architect and develop web and mobile applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create responsive, performant, and intuitive user interfaces
- Own high-visibility features and projects from design through deployment
- Mentor peers and influence the company's technical strategy
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in frontend development with TypeScript/React
- 3+ years of experience in mobile application development for Android and iOS
- 2+ years of experience using a modern systems programming language like Golang, C++, or Rust
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to translate product mockups and designs into fully realized user interfaces
- Proficient in HTML and CSS frameworks such as TailwindCSS
- Experience with REST APIs and WebSockets best practices
- Experience with relational databases and SQL
- Track record of setting or influencing frontend best practices
- Attention to detail and an appreciation for design aesthetics
