About the role
- Senior Web Developer building WordPress websites and digital applications for AdFarm, an agriculture-focused marketing agency. Integrating APIs, optimizing performance and mentoring developers.
Responsibilities
- Lead development, customization and maintenance of large-scale WordPress websites, web applications and other digital experiences
- Build responsive, high-performing websites using modern front-end and back-end technologies
- Customize and manage WordPress, Drupal, HubSpot and other content management systems
- Integrate APIs, CRM platforms, analytics tools, marketing automation systems and third-party services
- Support development and maintenance of native applications as needed
- Collaborate with creative, design, strategy, project management and account teams
- Evaluate technical requirements and identify challenges, opportunities and practical solutions
- Troubleshoot complex website and application issues, including performance and maintenance challenges
- Perform ongoing maintenance, updates, enhancements and quality assurance
- Test websites and applications across browsers, devices and screen sizes
- Apply accessibility, SEO, security and performance best practices
- Estimate development effort, establish timelines and deliver within approved budgets
- Improve development processes, workflows, tools and technical standards
- Mentor junior developers through technical guidance, code reviews, troubleshooting and knowledge sharing
- Own assigned projects, communicate progress and challenges, and ensure timely, accurate and budget-conscious delivery
Requirements
- Approximately 5–8+ years of professional web development experience, preferably in a marketing agency or client-service environment
- Extensive experience developing, launching and maintaining large-scale WordPress websites, including custom themes, plugins and advanced functionality
- Strong front-end development skills in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, including modern frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular
- Proficiency in back-end development, particularly PHP, with working knowledge of Node.js, Python or similar technologies
- Experience with relational databases, including MySQL or comparable technologies
- Experience developing and integrating APIs, third-party services and marketing technology platforms
- Strong understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, website accessibility and performance optimization
- Experience with native Android and iOS development
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and modern development, testing and deployment workflows
- Proven ability to diagnose complex technical issues and develop practical, sustainable solutions
- Ability to translate design concepts and business requirements into well-structured, functional digital solutions
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
- Clear communication skills, including ability to explain technical concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
- Experience providing technical guidance, code reviews or mentorship to junior developers
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables and collaborate effectively across teams
- Genuine curiosity about agriculture and willingness to learn about clients' industries, audiences and challenges
