- Frontend Desktop Engineer building Tether’s cross-platform P2P communications application Keet with React and Pear. Optimizing decentralized communication software for desktop users worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Keet Desktop, a cross-platform P2P communications application
- Implement UI/UX using React and the Pear runtime
- Optimize application performance, including rendering and memory management
- Test and debug complex frontend applications
- Build and maintain robust decentralized communication functionality
- Contribute to the future of peer-to-peer and decentralized communication
Requirements
- Proven experience with React/Preact and modern JavaScript/TypeScript in production-scale applications
- Strong competency in state management using Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or similar
- Ability to write modular, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Solid skills in testing and debugging complex frontend applications
- Deep interest or experience with P2P technologies or distributed systems
- Comfort working in a remote, globally distributed team
- Good communication skills
- Experience with desktop application development using Electron, Tauri, or similar runtimes preferred
- Familiarity with video/audio APIs, including WebRTC and media streams, preferred
- Demonstrated ability to optimize UI performance, including rendering and memory management, preferred
- Experience building cross-platform applications for macOS, Windows, Linux, or similar platforms preferred
- Contributions to open-source software projects, especially in P2P or decentralized technology, are a bonus
- Excellent English communication skills
