Process Technician optimizing injection-moulding output, quality, and safety at Amcor. Supporting maintenance and training operators in the production of responsible consumer packaging.
Responsibilities
Maximize machine output without jeopardizing quality or safety
Safely operate various machines and understand machine safety requirements
Develop knowledge of the plant’s injection moulding system
Perform visual inspections and identify product defects
Adjust processes to generate the best quality output
Monitor, record, analyze, investigate, and correct deviations in product quality, product safety, and operational efficiency
Report potential production downtime, scrap generation, and quality from each machine
Maintain the master cleaning schedule and complete paperwork
Keep machines and work areas clean
Record information in FMS and complete SPC and production reports accurately
Assist the shift mechanic with machine repairs, mold changes, and preventative maintenance
Identify and prevent potential causes of recurring problems
Perform other job-related tasks and assist in other plant areas as required
Maintain operators’ skill levels
Train new operators and conduct annual retraining on operator duties and expectations
Adhere to Amcor’s Hold Product and Back Tracking policies and procedures
Report to the Lead Process Technician and work with operations, plant management, production supervisors, senior operators, and other plant employees
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Verbal and written communication and documentation skills
Knowledge of starting up and shutting down moulding machines
Knowledge of maintaining machine operation and understanding machine functions
Understanding of product processing and required quality tests for part quality
Knowledge of testing equipment and the purpose of each test
Ability to perform safely under pressure
Time management skills
Ability to teach operators and maintain high standards
Flexibility and a positive attitude toward overtime
Ability to move objects up to 40 lbs
Must possess and demonstrate the necessary skills required for the position
Must take courses as required to perform assigned duties
