About the role

  • Software Development Manager leading team to develop features for Autodesk's software products. Collaborating with global stakeholders and mentoring engineers in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and mentor a large team of software engineers
  • Provide insight, feedback, and recommendations to senior management regarding the development, capabilities, and potential of our software projects
  • Identify efficiency opportunities through automation, engineering
  • Work with architects, product owners, experienced teams to move toward a common vision
  • Active expert contributing to product and business strategy
  • Provide leadership to achieve a high software engineering standard, including quality, security, resiliency
  • Manage the planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects
  • Attract, Hire, and grow top engineering talent
  • Collaborate with geographically dispersed team members
  • Understanding of serverless software architecture, best practices, workflows, and troubleshooting
  • Build platform capabilities with APIs and best software engineering principles

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience, including 5+ years of hands-on technical leadership and 3+ years of people management experience
  • Proven experience leading remote teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong background in software engineering, with a track record of delivering scalable, high-quality solutions
  • Hands-on experience with modern technologies such as Java, Node.js, Python, Go, React, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex, ambiguous technical and organizational challenges
  • Ability to define, communicate, and execute on a clear technical vision for the team
  • Proven ability to mentor, inspire, and grow engineering teams, supporting both career development and high performance
  • Experience with modern technology trends such as Data Engineering and developer productivity tooling is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of public cloud platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Familiarity with frameworks and technologies such as React and Spring is a plus
