Responsibilities
Lead, develop, and oversee the Manager Research & Oversight team
Set priorities, elevate research quality, and build a high-performance function across public markets, private markets, and liquid alternatives
Drive and implement the research agenda and investment process
Provide thought leadership on manager selection, oversight, and asset allocation
Conduct ongoing manager research and monitor institutional investment industry trends
Lead manager searches, due diligence, and selection recommendations for new and existing investment strategies
Present evidence-based conclusions to senior leadership
Monitor and evaluate product performance and identify optimization and innovation opportunities
Help drive the strategic vision for manager research and oversight
Provide actionable insights and investment recommendations to senior leadership
Enhance due diligence standards, monitoring tools, performance attribution, and quantitative analytics
Act as a subject matter expert on investment products
Provide investment insights and guidance to internal stakeholders and external partners
Present investment strategies and performance updates to clients and the sales team
Requirements
University Degree in Business, science, math or any quantitative fields
CFA charter holder
8-10+ years’ progressive investment industry manager research work experience in asset management, wealth management or investment consulting
Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management and team development
Proven track record of evaluating and managing relationships with external investment managers
Proven ability to lead investment teams and influence senior stakeholders
Advanced skills or ability to quickly learn analytical tools such as eVestment, Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, Copilot, and FactSet
Fluent communication skills in English are required
Experience researching global institutional investment strategies and making recommendations
Strong understanding of multi-asset investment strategies, investment products, and portfolio construction
Additional finance-related professional designations such as CAIA or CPA are an asset
Master’s degree in business, finance, or a statistically oriented field is an asset
Bilingual French skills are an asset
Experience using large amounts of data, Python, or quantitative investment techniques is an asset
