About the role
- Artiste 3D FX créant des effets visuels pour un projet télévisuel de type featurette. Collaboration avec animateurs et modeleurs pour des effets de haute qualité.
Responsibilities
- Design and create digital effects such as water, smoke, fire, dust, snow, bubbles, explosions, lava, foam, etc., to enhance character performances, environments, and storytelling.
- Contribute to the visual language of scenes by proposing effective FX techniques and elements that support the creative vision.
- Demonstrate a broad range of FX skills to achieve the project's desired style, tone, and impact.
- Work closely with the FX Supervisor and the team to ensure visual consistency across shots.
- Incorporate feedback from Directors and Supervisors to refine FX and improve overall image quality.
- Diagnose and resolve FX challenges in a production context, ensuring technical stability and integration with the pipeline.
- Optimize FX setups to maximize efficiency without compromising visual quality.
Requirements
- Experience in FX for animation or visual effects (VFX).
- Proven ability to create a variety of FX, from subtle environmental elements to dynamic destruction.
- Proficiency in Houdini and Nuke required.
- Knowledge of Maya and Katana is an asset.
- Experience with RenderMan shading, ray tracing, and volumetric rendering is desirable.
- Proficiency with FLIP and Vellum solvers for fluid and cloth simulations.
- Familiarity with VEX scripting and Python is an asset.
- Strong understanding of physics principles, lighting, and rendering techniques applied to FX.
- High attention to detail and ability to create realistic, stylized, or surreal FX that serve the story.
- Excellent creative problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to receive and apply feedback constructively.
- A demo reel or portfolio demonstrating:
- - A wide variety of effects, including water, fire, smoke, destruction, cloth, and atmospheric simulations.
- - Use of Houdini and Nuke in production-quality scenes.
- - A detailed presentation of workflow, including problem-solving and iteration steps.
- - Strong visual storytelling through FX design and integration.
- - A high level of polish and excellent control of timing, scale, and level of detail.
