About the role

  • Payroll Senior Analyst managing full cycle payroll processing for EDB's international employees. Ensuring compliance and enhancing payroll efficiency in a remote role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and have complete ownership of full cycle end to end international payroll processing monthly and semi-monthly payroll for our international employees in the US, Canada, APAC, APJ and EMEA, and work closely with our international payroll providers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees, providing guidance and resolving payroll-related queries, policies, ensuring effective resolution in a timely manner.
  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international regulations, data privacy standards, and EDB's internal policies.
  • Support payroll accounting close activities, including the preparation of accruals and account reconciliations, prepare and post payroll journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date, and partner with the accounting team to resolve variances.
  • Assist with year-end activities, including the reconciliation and support for the distribution of annual tax forms (e.g., T4s, W-2s).
  • Support the administration of retirement and benefit contributions (e.g., 401(k)), including processing files and assisting with compliance activities.
  • Assist with the review of quarterly payroll tax reporting and help research and resolve payroll/tax reporting issues.
  • Prepare and generate internal payroll reports for management and assist with external regulatory filings.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the payroll function, helping to enhance efficiency, leverage automation, and improve the stakeholder experience.
  • Invoice Management: Populate and prepare invoices related to payroll, benefits, and other third-party remittances.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize Microsoft Excel to create reports, analyze payroll data, and support financial audits.

Requirements

  • A healthy curiosity for payroll: You don’t just process data; you want to understand the "why" behind the calculations and the "how" of the underlying systems.
  • Adaptability & Growth Mindset: You are comfortable navigating change in a fast-paced environment and are genuinely willing to learn new technologies, regional regulations, and complex global workflows.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build models using VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and advanced formulas.
  • Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, HR, or a related discipline. Professional designation such as CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) is preferred.
  • Technical Savvy: Hands-on experience with payroll and accounting software. Workday, ADP and NetSuite experience are strongly preferred.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent skills to effectively partner with cross-functional and international teams across various time zones.
  • Independence: Proven ability to manage tasks independently in a remote-first work environment. Available during core hours for PT time zone
