About the role

  • Client Service Assistant supporting BMO Private Wealth advisors and client portfolios. Coordinating account services, meetings, marketing, reporting and compliant day-to-day branch operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support one or more Investment Advisors, their teams and staff, and private wealth branch operations with day-to-day administration
  • Deliver exceptional client service and support business objectives
  • Coordinate advisory-team marketing activities, including website and social media initiatives, client recognition and client events
  • Prepare for client meetings and schedule appointments
  • Handle client requests and inquiries, including basic money movement, technology issues, account opening and updates
  • Generate reports and documents for Investment Advisors and clients
  • Process items for client accounts and files
  • Maintain and organize client databases and files
  • Assign transactions and tasks to team members and ensure completion
  • Support team members with technology issues, new technology, policies, procedures and escalations
  • Gather and distribute updates on training, guidelines, technology and business information
  • Build client rapport, credibility and positive experiences to retain long-term relationships
  • Assist with managing a client portfolio and growing relationships
  • Support Investment Advisors with customized investment-related advice, sales and services
  • Collaborate within the market, with BMO partners and the community
  • Follow risk and compliance processes to safeguard assets, protect privacy and operate the branch effectively
  • Protect Bank and client assets and comply with regulatory, legal and ethical requirements
  • Analyze issues, determine next steps and escalate as required
  • Apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework and make risk-informed decisions aligned with business strategy and applicable policies and regulations

Requirements

  • Typically 1–2 years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of wealth management company and branch operations is an asset
  • Knowledge of traditional products including stocks, bonds, money market and mutual funds is an asset
  • Knowledge of non-traditional managed and fee-based products is an asset
  • Familiarity with technology applications and software used in financial planning and investment
  • Must meet licensing and certification requirements for the branch/jurisdiction
  • Basic specialized knowledge
