About the role

  • Enterprise Architect responsible for defining and advancing BMO's data, analytics, and AI architecture vision. Leading technical innovations across data platforms, advanced analytics, and machine learning.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve enterprise data, analytics, and AI architecture standards, target and reference architectures.
  • Design and guide end-to-end architectures covering data ingestion, analytics, ML, and AI platforms.
  • Be a technical leader viewed as a thought leader for innovation in data, machine learning, and AI areas.
  • Identify and research data, analytics, and AI relevant technologies, perform proofs of concept / prototypes, and recommend the applications of such technologies for future product architecture.
  • Create and grow architectural capability across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders in enterprise, technology, and business groups.
  • Stay abreast of industry technical and business trends through participation in professional associations, practice communities, and individual learning.
  • Provide architectural expertise and domain knowledge to advise and guide senior leaders.
  • Ensure governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Typically 10 - 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Solid hands-on working experience on cloud platforms and enterprise-scale solutions
  • Solid knowledge of Architecture & Integration: APIs, microservices, cloud-native architectures, enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
  • Experience with Azure cloud services: Microsoft Azure (Power BI, Microsoft Fabric)
  • Experience with AWS cloud services: AWS (EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift, Glue)
  • Experience with Data Platforms: Enterprise Data Warehouses, Big Data platforms (Hadoop, Spark), Streaming platforms (Kafka, Spark Streaming)
  • Experience with Analytics & BI: Power BI, SQL-based analytics, enterprise reporting and visualization tools
  • Experience with AI & Machine Learning: Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, machine learning model lifecycle management, MLOps tools
  • Experience with Data Governance & Management: Data Quality, Data Lineage, Metadata Management, Master Data Management, Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth / Expert
