About the role

  • Administrative Secretary supporting Manitoba’s child and adolescent mental health services. Providing confidential administrative support to multidisciplinary clinical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre
  • Support a multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain accountability to assigned areas for day-to-day position functions
  • Perform duties consistently with the Centre’s philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures
  • Report to the Program Manager
  • Provide a variety of administrative duties
  • Upload a cover letter, resume and copies of licenses/certifications when applying

Requirements

  • Two (2) years secretarial experience in a health/medical related environment
  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
  • Formal training in applied office skills is required
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Experience with medical transcription preferred
  • Experience with medical terminology preferred
  • Ability to understand somewhat complex situations, determine courses of action and respond professionally
  • Experience maintaining records management systems, including classifying and coding electronic and hard-copy files
  • Word processing speed of 40 wpm
  • Excellent typing and proofreading skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Databases and Adobe
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain accuracy, manage heavy workloads under pressure, meet deadlines and multitask
  • Ability to follow directions closely and accurately and work with initiative
  • Ability to deal effectively with difficult behaviors exhibited by people in distress
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Current Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Current Adult Abuse Registry Check
