Responsibilities
- Own the full client relationship from discovery through close
- Make architecture and build decisions appropriate to client environments and constraints
- Run discovery, architecture reviews, and stakeholder interviews independently
- Translate ambiguous problems into scoped, deliverable work
- Identify and manage scope creep and surface risks early
- Identify and surface expansion opportunities
- Transfer lasting capability through documented, runnable, maintainable software or automations
- Contribute patterns, templates, and reusable components back to the practice after every engagement
- Scope, architect, build, and close production-grade AI engagements
- Run technical or operational AI delivery engagements, depending on specialization
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering or technical delivery experience with meaningful time in embedded or client-facing contexts
- Proven solo account delivery: evidence you've owned a client relationship from kickoff through close without supervision
- Hands-on depth in one or more of: LLM application development, cloud-native architecture (AWS preferred), backend systems at scale, or enterprise business automation
- Demonstrated ability to make independent technical decisions and manage your own delivery quality inside client environments
- Strong communicator: technically precise with engineers, clear and confident with VP-level leadership; adjusts depth without losing accuracy
- High tolerance for ambiguity; consistently delivers value before all requirements are defined
- Current legal authorization to work in Canada; Caylent is unable to provide visa sponsorship
- Preferred: experience building production AI systems, including RAG pipelines, agents, fine-tuned models, or LLM-native applications
- Preferred: hands-on experience with Claude, AWS Bedrock, or equivalent, including model parameters, prompt architecture, and tool use
- Preferred: background in consulting, systems integration, or professional services
- Preferred: familiarity with SOW-based delivery and scope management
- Preferred: AWS Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, or equivalent certification
- Operational preferred: management consulting, enterprise SaaS implementation, or deep business-function experience
- Operational preferred: experience designing and running AI enablement programs for non-technical audiences
- Operational preferred: hands-on experience with Zapier, Power Automate, Airtable, Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise systems
- Operational preferred: cross-functional experience across Finance, Legal, and Operations
