About the role
- Senior Forward Deployed Engineer embedding with Xero teams to build production AI agents and workflow automation. Integrating LLMs with enterprise platforms and establishing safe, reusable AI patterns.
Responsibilities
- Embed within internal business teams to co-design and operationalise agentic AI workflows
- Lead delivery of high-stakes AI agents from discovery through production
- Act as a technical partner and AI evangelist
- Define patterns, guardrails, and tooling for intelligent automation
- Design and iterate on AI agents and workflow orchestrations using Claude, Gemini, and MCP
- Integrate AI systems with Salesforce, Workday, Slack, and NetSuite
- Develop reusable automation patterns and shared business templates
- Build evaluation and monitoring frameworks to measure performance and safety of AI-native workflows
- Collaborate with product owners and subject-matter experts to automate complex workflows
- Coach stakeholders through pairing, workshops, and clear communication
Requirements
- Wealth of experience building and operating applications or automations in production environments
- Experience with APIs and cloud infrastructure
- Hands-on delivery of AI-driven solutions such as agents, copilots, or RAG systems
- Experience using LLMs such as Claude or Gemini
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript
- Comfortable navigating SDKs and webhooks
- Systems-thinking approach to security, auditability, and controlled blast radius
- Track record partnering with non-technical stakeholders to translate business pain points into technical solution designs
- Ability to coach and improve AI fluency through pairing, workshops, and clear communication
