- Assist in planning and executing growth activities for the City of Ottawa.
- Participate in prioritizing transportation investments.
- Approve development applications and manage long-term strategies for the City’s real estate portfolio.
Requirements
- Four‑year university degree in an engineering discipline accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Board.
- Bachelor’s degree in a program recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario and completion of the Association’s Technical Exam Program.
- General and specialized knowledge of the service area’s scope.
- Ontario and Canadian engineering standards and other standards relevant to the area of specialization.
- Knowledge of various construction standards, corresponding national and provincial regulations and codes, and applicable laws and guidelines.
- Current and advanced engineering technologies, design methods, and processes.
- Principles and practices of project management.
- Analytical techniques.
- Applied research techniques (e.g., pilot plant, test bench): layout, operation, and analysis.
- Customer service management.
- Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Field investigation and surveying techniques.
- Relevant health and safety legislation, including workers’ rights and obligations.
