About the role

  • eLearning localization developer adapting English courses into Québec French for CMiC, a construction and capital-projects software provider. Recreating French software demos and ensuring course quality.

Responsibilities

  • Localize existing English eLearning courses into Québec French using Articulate Rise and Storyline
  • Prepare course files for translation using CMiC’s approved French terminology glossary
  • Collaborate with the contract French Translator and incorporate approved translations into final learning content
  • Recreate English screenshots and software demonstration videos using the French version of the CMiC application
  • Navigate CMiC software to generate realistic training scenarios, enter sample data, and configure records
  • Create, update, and maintain screenshots, screen recordings, and other visual assets
  • Maintain and enhance Québec French terminology glossaries and localization resources
  • Perform quality assurance testing on localized courses and correct formatting, multimedia, navigation, accessibility, and functionality issues
  • Ensure localized content maintains the instructional quality, visual consistency, functionality, and learner experience of the English courses
  • Collaborate with the English Instructional Design team as courses move through localization
  • Follow development standards, templates, naming conventions, and project timelines
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve localization processes, development standards, and course quality
  • Report to the Instructional Design Manager and collaborate with the English Instructional Design team, contract French Translator, and Learning & Development team

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Québec French, written and spoken
  • Demonstrated proficiency writing and reviewing business and technical content in Québec French
  • Experience developing eLearning using Articulate Storyline and Rise
  • Ability to quickly learn and confidently navigate complex software applications
  • Strong technical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience creating and editing screenshots, screen recordings, and other digital learning assets
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience localizing eLearning content into Québec French preferred
  • Experience with translation workflows, terminology management, localization tools, or CAT tools preferred
  • Experience maintaining terminology databases, translation glossaries, or language reference materials preferred
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies preferred
  • Experience with LMS and SCORM-compliant eLearning preferred
  • Experience in construction, ERP, finance, accounting, or software industries considered an asset
